I wanted to share some personal experiences about purchasing perfumes off the ever so popular eBay auction site.

My personal experience is with my girlfriends favorite perfume by Christian Dior - Poison Perfume. When I first started buying this perfume for her, I was purchasing the fragrance for right around $65 retail. Demand must have increased as the prices increased to over $100 for the 3.4 oz size bottle.

I turned to eBay as I’ve had luck there before getting decent discounts to products I’ve purchased off the site before. I found I could purchase the Poison perfume 3.4 oz bottle for a little less than half of the retail price! Well, I received the perfume in the mail, let my girlfriend open the package only to find the perfume was a “remake” and not authentic at all. The smell was way off, smelled horrible, and like I said, the bottle and the box weren’t even close to the original retail product. I immediately contacted the seller, got a refund, and silly me, tried again! This time, I found a new seller selling the same Poison perfume product 3.4 oz bottle, in the original packaging for right around $55! The seller claimed “Authentic” and had a 100% guarantee. Sounded good to me, and purchased it. To my surprise, the product was another fake. I had an old bottle and compared it to the one I purchased, and found some very small differences between the two.

From My personal experience from purchasing perfumes on eBay, I simply just won’t anymore. I hope this gives some insight to the next victim that might be thinking about buying a certain favorite designer cologne or perfume off a seller out there simply trying to make money selling knockoffs and pretending to know nothing about their products.

Search the internet and find a dealer with reputation such as fragrancex.com, fragrancenet.com, or ChristmasEveryMonth.com to name a few sites that only sell Authentic fragrances at low retail prices.
