I’ve discovered and confirmed a common habit in friends who work on the Internet and I’ve known for a substantial period and I call this trait the 50 minute rule. I observed these members of both sexes who apply themselves and work for fifty mins. and then kick back for a complete ten minute break and are considerably more efficient and generate a substantially greater quality of work than men and women who don’t have similar working methods.

OK as promised I present you with my list of preferred remote working web applications:

E-Mail

Google Mail is free. For my money the search and label (similar to folders) functions are second to none. Googlemail can be a little slow on aging PC’s

Phone calls

Skype
continually perplexed me as the connection stability was unacceptable, but a big pat on the back for the software tech’s at Skype now as they have substantially changed the quality of the service. For just a few bucks a quarter they enable me to call and conference in any telephone and Skype user in the world. The latest edition of Skype has an abundance of very practical features and there are now plenty of of useful add ons.

Organising Content

Evernote
has reached in excess of a million users in a very short space of time – it lets you to store, organise and annotate any species of digital content in the Cloud. Just go check it out…it’s free.

Invoicing, Time and Expenses capture, Accounting and CRM

You probably know that my dream to work remotely was originally encouraged by Quickbooks Online, a small business accounting software web application. But it is shadowed by the free edition of salesorder.com – a lead to cash system that’s as easy to use as a pc mouse I looked at NetSuite whose pricing (and people) scared me off. My choice here is salesorder.com – Go check it out.
